Ilkley Carnival
May 1, 2017
FreeThe City of Leeds Pipe Band were there at Ilkley Carnival in 2016 where the parade saw more than 1,000 participants from local schools and organisations come together in a vibrant “Best of British” themed procession which attracted thousands of spectators… even in the rain!
For 2017 we’ll be there again with our bagpipes and drums. This year’s theme is “At The Movies”!
With the Cow and Calf rocks providing the perfect ‘Hollywood backdrop’ to our Los Angeles-style, show stopping Ilkley Carnival, the 1st May 2017 will see our town centre come alive with celebrity, character and film themed tableaux in what promises to be the most spectacular parade yet!
As well as the event’s infamous May Day parade, carnival day promises live acts, a vintage car show, the unmissable and historic Black Hats vs White Hats cricket match, a fun dog show and an enviable line up of free children’s entertainment alongside charity and trade stalls on the town’s East Holmes Field show ground.
