The first Fayre was held in 1985 and was an immediate success.<\/p>\n
Over the years the volunteer committee members have come and gone. All have worked tirelessly to ensure that the Fayre stays true to the aims that were set down by its founders.<\/p>\n
The organisation of the Fayre was passed to Otley Town Partnership in 2011.<\/p>\n
Otley Town Partnership (OTP) is a voluntary organisation, led by a Board of Directors, which undertakes a broad range of community based activities to promote Otley for the benefit of the town. Most famously they run both the monthly Otley Farmer\u2019s Market and the annual Food and Drink Festival.<\/p>\n
Alan Furze was a dedicated volunteer with the fayre and sadly passed away in 2016. He left a small sum of money for the group to encourage everyone taking part to dress in Victorian Costume. We established the \u201cAlan Furze Memorial Cup\u201d in his memory. It is awarded on the day of the Fayre to either a business or stall that, in the opinion of the team, have gone the extra mile to represent the \u201cSpirit\u201d of the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
