Leeds Armed Forces Day 2016
June 25, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
This year’s Armed Forces Day is set to be another spectacular event; with a host of events and activities on Victoria Gardens (outside the Art Gallery and Town Hall) and Cookridge Street.
Hosted by the Lord Mayor of Leeds, it is part of a national day celebrating the courage and contribution of the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces past and present.
One of the highlights is the parade through the city centre, featuring service men and women, past and present, alongside cadets from across the city. There will be a variety of displays, military vehicles and military-related stalls; with family-friendly activities including a climbing wall, Breeze Boot Camp and fun, themed crafts.
There’s the chance to meet veterans of all ages, browse a selection of stalls and enjoy a range of performances on a specially constructed stage on Cookridge Street. A Drum Head Service will take place on Leeds City Art Gallery steps.
