SUMMARY:Flying Scotsman at Ingrow West
DESCRIPTION:The world’s most famous steam locomotive\, ‘Flying Scotsman\, has been travelling the country for the last year\, drawing thousands of admiring glances having returned to action after a long and protracted overhaul. Now it is time for the people of West Yorkshire to witness this magnificent locomotive. The ‘Flying Scotsman’ is to make an appearance at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway from the 1st April until 9th April 2017. The City of Leeds Pipe Band will be there from its arrival on 31st March and over the weekend. \n \nSATURDAY 1ST AND SUNDAY 2ND APRIL.\nAt Ingrow West Station on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April ‘Flying Scotsman’ will be on display and in steam in Ingrow Station Yard. \nThe Ingrow Station site will only have pedestrian access or visitors should travel by train from one of the other KWVR stations as the entrance to the car park and yard from South Street / Halifax Road will be closed for vehicular access\, as car parking will be suspended for the weekend. \nStandard tickets will give you travel to and from Ingrow and access to Ingrow Yard to view the locomotive from the public area or\, for an additional charge\, enjoy the “Flying Scotsman Experience” \n“Flying Scotsman Experience”\nThe “Flying Scotsman Experience” allows access to the locomotive itself and includes a 15 minute interpretive talk about the loco followed by a walk through the cab and\, if you so wish\, the tender\, following in the footsteps of generations of enginemen who passed through on their journey at speed from Kings Cross to Edinburgh. \n“Viewing Flying Scotsman”\nFlying Scotsman will be in steam and on display at Ingrow West between 09.00 and 18.00. Entry to Ingrow yard will require a special day ticket to be purchased and will include unlimited travel on our steam trains between Oxenhope and Keighley. \nTickets for travel should be purchased on the day and will include viewing the locomotive from the public area and entry to the Museum of Rail Travel and Ingrow Loco Museum. Passenger services behind our own steam locomotives will operate every hour from 08.30 – 18.30. \nPlease note advance booking is NOT necessary to come and see Flying Scotsman whilst on static display at Ingrow. \nIMPORTANT\nIngrow Station and the Ingrow Yard area will only be accessible by taking a train from one of the other KWVR Stations and alighting at Ingrow West. The car park will be closed on both these days and pedestrian access is suspended for the weekend.
